Sweepster C-48 for Simplicity & Allis Garden Tractors, 1959-1970.  Real nice shape for regular use or restoration.  Very rare.  Here's a video of one in use...they work great.

$950, pickup in 49323, or chat about potential delivery.  I can (maybe) get it to WI this coming week with a friend who's traveling there (right, Michael?)  smiley9.gif

I believe I have an identical sweepster here but in a little worse condition. Is the top on this one fiberglass over tin, or just metal? Do you know anything about them and the age?

Fiberglass tops were used later on and as a replacement part. Plastic was used after that. Steel tops were used early on and often rust through because brooms get stored upside down (to keep from forming a flat spot on the brushes), water collects and you end up with rust holes.

Hitches differentiate the early Sweepsters. The Simplicity/Allis version os extremely scarce. Other end of the specrum...JD. They seem to be the most common.
