Anybody know anything about old books ? We found in my great grandmother books a book from 1871 sign by the author. The book is The Moneyless Man and other poem by Henry T Stanton.

You need to do a search for comparables. Type the authors' name into any search engine and see what comes up. Good Luck, Rick

From what I understand the author wrote the poems during the civil war

In the movie "The Good The Bad and the Ugly" they dug up the grave of Arch Stanton in a civil war cemetery in the search for the treasure. Just the kind of reference and use of a name that screen writers delight in when researching for a movie. For those in the know it really lends authenticity to the story.
Maybe you could take the book to Antiques Roadshow and make a fortune!

I just googled Henry T Stanton, Civil War Poet. If you scroll down to "Can anyone tell me where to go" you'll find a discussion started by a direct relative of Stanton's who is looking for information, and the results he got. Very interesting.
