uploadfromtaptalk1444701995088.jpg this is the drivers side front rotor off of my 85 Chevy truck. I bought it earlier this year and did a full service and inspection of the truck when I got it. I blew the head gaskets on it after a heater hose blew. A few days ago I finished putting the new heads and turbo setup on I took it for a drive and as I was pulling back in the driveway I hit the brakes a little harder than normal to avoid hitting the dog and that's when this rotor let go. So I took it off and changed both front rotors and the caliper on the drivers side as it had a crack where the lower pin goes through.

Why is there only a small amount of metal holding that on there. What do the slots it broke off of have to fit around??

Stuff like this is happening more and more. Combo of making it cheaper and lighter coupled with overseas qc.

Glad you weren't hurt.

The wheel studs wouldn't fit with out the holes older ones were solid but they won't fit this truck

That's pretty scary. Hopefully the dog survived the incident and nobody got hurt. Could have been much worse!

Is it just the way the camera picked it up or did you have a stuck caliper? The ring around the braking surface looks blue and scorched like it got really hot.

The dog lived thankfully. Yes it is blue its from the caliper being worn and not being straight
