Scott welcome aboard. I'm glad my thread inspired you to join.

Mine was pretty rough when I got it and a lot was missing from it. Yours more than likely just needs some good maintenance and it will run like it's supposed to. Get the sulky if it won't break the bank and use it for now, then look for a period correct one.

I look forward to seeing you fix yours up.

It's kind of a long story but, I don't want to jack your thread. I was going to post up some pics of the 49 L but I can't just post them from my computer can I? I have to use a storage site like Photobucket?

Scott, Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you with us. When you get a chance, start a thread on your tractor and post some pics. I'm sure we'd all like to see it.

Thank you Doug, I missed your post before. I will start a thread on the resto as soon as I pick it up and get it home. My plan is simple really.  1) buy it, 2) drop it off at Devans place and, 3) have him call me when it's done! What could be more easy, right?
