Yes, you have to use attachments made for Jd.140/300/317..Also, there is 3pt. hitch for the same tractors that needs rear hydrualic kit, which you can fab. up.

The sleeve hitch and rear tiller use a lift bar hooked to the mid mount rock shaft.

You might check with, rueggrollers@hotmail.com. He has them for the 317 w/Onan, but doesn't show one for the Kohler powered 317. Wouldn't hurt to check! I have one of his 3-pts on my 420, very well built & I'm told< it is nearly identical to the JD, which is NLA. ~~ grnspot

This just came up: Mathew Kreek listed the following on WFM, he's in NW MO;

John Deere #49 Snow Thrower asking $350 (fits 140, 300, 316, 317, 318, 322, 330, 332, etc.)
Optional Hydraulic chute turn asking $100 (at time of purchase of the thrower)
Brinly 10" Sleeve Hitch Plow asking $150 (unrestored)

C Shank Cultivator, Cat 0, asking $300

I’ll second Bill Ruegg’s 3 point hitches, I have one on a 425 and have gotten a lot of use out of it. There should be no reason he wouldn’t have one to fit your 316.
