My daily Craigslist search found these two gems.  The left one is a SS16 with weights and a non rusted out mower deck. The nose piece is in perfect shape and it runs!!!.  Chock cable is froze solid but not it too bad shape.  The right one ia a 16/6. No motor but it has all the linkage, and the same trans ans my GT18.  So i got a parts tractor!!  The PO was asking $425 and i got em for $350.

Looks like lots of potential on the left one and good parts are always a good idea!

Zat your place or his in pictures? Interesting dump bed on truck in front. Looks like Wood sides maybe get slipped into those corner brackets to make sides?  I've seen for "batter" boards, but not all the way down to bed like that. How/what is tail gate made? If NOT yours....Never Mind!  I take it you are another Sears nut?

That was at the sellers house.  I wasn't paying any attention to the dump truck.  LOL.  Yep im more of a connoisseur of the oddball and unpopular to the masses.  I like old Sears and Gilson's.  The Beast in my Avatar pic my dad purchased new in 76.  It cuts my grass every weekend and has been in running order its entire life always garage kept.  It has once been re ringed, carb rebuild and had to have a gear replaced in the the rear end once.  It will be getting a rattle can resto this winter.

As for the newbies to the garage. I stripped the deck of the linkages and top cover to inspect and found no holes!!.  Dad pressure washed both tractors and the deck parts.  Im gonna start stripping the parts tractor this weekend and shelving it.  i think i can rebuild the nose piece as it broke in 4 nice large pieces.

The left one is the 16HP.
