Has anyone used a BGB for anything other than it's intended puspose? I have one from a 716 6 speed. It has a 7/8" input shaft and a shaft out each side, one with pulleys for the drive and the other has the clutch for a tiller out back. Just wondering if you could use them for something else since I am not using the 6-speed rear end in my AC 'New Project'. Could they be turned on their side?

AC 716 BGB?

I would think that turning it on its side would eventually result in a dry upper bearing and a leaking lower bearing. Otherwise, I would think the reuse of it will be only limited by your imagination and scrap pile. Good Luck, Rick

I am just wondering as I have no experience with these! May figure out another use for it if I don't sell the rear end first!

You could turn it on its side with no ill effect. Its splash lubed so the gears are always throwing oil around.Using it for another project would be kinda perfect for it.

I have no plans at the moment for it, but you never know what I'll come up with tomorrow!
