I need a 12 to 14 hp vertical motor to put in a John Deere sabre , dosent have to be prefect but needs to run , can anyone help , willing to spend up to $175 with shipping

Older, complete running stamped frame riding lawnmowers  (big box store throw away brands ) in the 12hp range around here often can be found for around $200. Usually lots of life left in the motor, just the rest of it is falling apart. If you can find one like that, pull the motor and scrap or part out the rest. I have one sitting here that just needs a ring gear on the flywheel that I was thinking of selling, but I think I may keep it as a backup machine.

12.5hp Kohler command engines are really good.Easier on fuel than the 15 and more torque than a Briggs intek single cylinder.You might have to mod the exhaust header but that's easy if you have access to a Mig welder.

My 12.5 hp Kohler in Avon will fit the bill!

 

I see my ad timed out last week.  It came out of a CC 1320 and is in good shape..  It comes complete with Starter and exhaust for $75..  PM me for contact details..
