This is the Perkins .9L diesel I bought from TheFarm2004 (David) yesterday.  I got it fired up this morning, so rigged up the radiator he tossed in with the deal.  The video below is of it running.  It has some injection issues, but runs, so that is a definite plus!  It may have a governor issue too, but I'll get into all that later.  I'm no injection pump guy, so I'll have to take this slow & easy so I don't screw things up royal.  David also gave me a reprint of a manual for the 100 series Perkins engines used in Ford sub compact tractors, but I have to figure out which model matches this engine, as it was used in a Lincoln 250 Weldanpower welder/generator and the model numbers read different.  Since I took this video, I found a reverse blowing fan off one of my littler 2 cylinder Perkins engines that fit, so now it will cool well while extended running.

Nice find. Have you had a chance to check the blow-by ?

Been tinkering on it all day.  Pulled the injector pump & readjusted by guess/ear.  After 3rd assembly she runs like she should. She did smoke at all throttle settings, now only on rev-up.  It also wouldn't shut off by either mechanical or electric solenoid.  She now shuts down with either right off.  I had to choke it down before.  Governor is working, but was hard to tell the way it ran before.  I dialed it in by turning the outputs on the injector pump just a wee bit, then she sounded real nice.

Oh, and at full temps idling, 45-50psi oil pressure.  60+ at full throttle.  The hour meter showed a little over 1,500hrs.  If that is accurate, it is low hour for a diesel as far as life expectancy.

And Chris, I didn't notice any blow-by from the breather tube, but I'll look closer when I go back down there and run her again.

That was quick!  Now you just need to find something to put it in. :smilewink:   Which I'm sure you already have a few ideas.

Not sure what it will go in, but I have time to figure that out.  Gotta get Hogzilla painted first.  I had planned to sell my Massey "2055", but it sprang a bad differential case leak, so I can't sell it unless I do a lot of work, so I'll keep it for now, and possibly put this diesel into it.  I'll take another video of the Perkins running now that it's running smoother.

Here's the 2nd video with it running so much better.  When I did the first rev there was some awful wind noise, but it's not the engine.  2nd rev doesn't have that.  Notice no smoke once revved up.  Almost NO blowby at all!  I could put my mouth over the tube and feel just a slight pressure build.

Here are the hours on the clock.

Did you learn that from the Perkin school? I'd like to see a video of that. :D

The only official looking page wasn't a Perkins site, but an engine selling site which listed it as just under 20hp.  I have seen other references as 21hp.  I'll just call it 20 and be happy! ..........VERY HAPPY   :D
