We had a trade in the works for a few months and finally got to it but my buddy lives about 300 miles away so we have to plan our get togethers. Anyway he brought me this nice SS16 and left with a Case and parts. A couple of interesting things on this tractor that I noticed is the decal on the blower housing and the placement of the I D tag. The tag looks to be factory mounted where it is. Where it normally would have been doesn't look like there was ever a tag there.

Looks pretty good, unmolested!  What is that chain thing on steering column for? Kinda looks like it belongs there, yet have no idea a purpose?? Key in it once maybe? So wound not lose it? Looks too heavy for that tho.

I would say the onan sticker is homemade and the serial number has been moved. That tractor has been repainted at one time so I'm betting both are changes when it was painted.

The model/serial # tag would have been on the upper plate above engine by the battery.

Funny thing is,it doesn't look to have ever had a tag on the fire wall plate where it would normally be. Not even holes for it ? It has never been painted best I can tell,a little touch up but not much. It seems to be a very low hour tractor. We have seen several Wheel Horse R&D tractors that made it out of the factory into private owners hands over the years ? Maybe something somebody done at home ? Who knows. I sold it before I even messed with it. A guy shot me an offer I couldn't refuse so its leaving this weekend. Not much of a Onan or 73 up fan anyway. I prefer the 72 and back Subs.

I'm not a fan either mostly because I can't afford the parts lol I traded mine and some cash for a cub cadet

I dunno about the tag. They were never held on by Phillips head screws, only rivets so that's not factory where it is.

Sorry you sold it, I would love to have an Onan tractor.....no wait, I do if I ever get my Massey MF1855 running :wallbanging:
