The dash on my HT23 is brittle plastic with cracks. I realize the holes are different, but will a dash from a 1476 fit? If so, can it be altered to look correct?

IMO no, the metal dashes from the later tube frames ( G12-14, H14-16 etc. And HT20-23, also late 1886 04 and up I believe) much better choice and a straight bolt up. They pop up frequently on Ebay, check with Bob Hill,( BHTS) Rick Show (Rick's Bolens parts) they may have one, if not keep a eye on Ebay or if need is urgent PM me, seems as I go thru my parts I hoard these.

Auto body shops carry a line of plastic repair kits..Its a type of body filler specifically for plastic. Never used it myself...or like WrenchinOnit suggested a bolt in replacement.
