The link is from our local online Classifieds. An estate sale October 3rd in Ogden, UT. The thing that caught my eye was the restored Eimco Power Horse.

Eimco tractors and construction machinery was made in Salt Lake City, Utah. When I was first married, I used to drive a roll-off truck, and would pick up their non-metal trash at their plant...

They haven't made construction machinery for many years though the company did evolve to water treatment and wastewater process machinery before being assimilated into another country.

The name lives on in construction and mining machinery in Eimco Elecon--a company based in India.

FWIW,

Smitty, what was the purpose of the Power Horse? is it a generator? It looks like a good restoration
It was intended to help farmers have a power source that allowed them to use horse-drawn plows, harrows, etc. so they didn't have to invest in a bunch of attachments. It probably also helped some of them make the transition from horse to internal combustion power source.

Many of the parts are from Allis Chalmers--there's some good writeups about the Power Horse and Eimco on Wikipedia, or do a Google Search...

Regards,

Smitty

Yeah, there were a few different makes of those 'Mechanical Horses'.

Here's one I saw at a show last summer:
