The 184 was the last of the lo-boy series.  They were advertised at 18-19 hp.  It should have a bendix style starter and an alternator.

(although the early 184 may still have had the starter-generator)

serial # 43802-46162   built in 1977

             46163-48029              1978

             48030-52339              1979

 List price was about $5,650

We had a 1973  154  It was the wife's favorite tractor.

Good luck with yours  and  :wewantpics:      Rick

That looks like it..only its red and has an odd belt on the rear(for the deck?)

You know where this is going. . . "I decided to keep it."  "A guy stopped and offered me $50."  " Sorry! The barn caught fire."

I have a 184. As said 18hp. Mine's set up with turf tires. Good, solid tractors. Wish it had a 4 spd. though. Can't beat your deal. Look forward to your pics.

Congratulations on a steal of a deal.

One of the deciding factors in how much money to put into it is total overall condition and what shape the rear tires are in. Tractor tire prices have gone through the roof in the last ten years.  :mad2:
