GOOD TO KNOW!! If a thief forces you to take money from an ATM, do not argue or resist. What you should do is punch your pin in reverse. EX: if your pin is 1234 you punch 4321. The moment you punch in the reverse, the money will come out but will be stuck in the machine and the machine will immediately alert the police without the theifs knowledge. Every ATM has this feature. Share this to your most popular board.

I haven't double checked this with my bank. Let me know if this is bogus.

Sounds like a good idea but I reckon its fake, probably unworkable in rl, besides there are thousands of people with numbers that read the same both ways, eg 1441.

I think it would just be safer to give the thief what he wants and hopefully he will go away---some criminals might just go  completely insane and hurt or kill you if they didn't get what they want.     Just  get a good description and hopefully the police can catch them.

I checked with the local bank, the County Sheriff and Snopes. It's not true.  It was an idea that they tried to get going and never flew. It was felt that it would endanger the victim if the police didn't get there in time. So, just give them what they want. Your life is worth more than the money.

Sorry for the faults info.

I'd rather give the perp a lead injection.  That way you don't have to worry about him being mad at ya!
