I don't even the know the brand name as yet as I have yet to see it in person. Seller told me $700 so I assume it comes with $500 worth of gasoline and a some other extras.  Do you think its a wheel horse.?

Does the mower deck come with it? And what's on the seat, spare parts?

That is the PTO assembly and U-joint to drive the deck sitting on the seat.

Its a Bolens 800, likely the 1963 Model

Anything over $150 I'd say you are overpaying , the 38'' Deck it comes with is an early model one and would have been correct for that era which Is why I would feel safe valuing the package this high. If it dosent run take off another $80

Brian:

What do you see to indicate 1963?

Other than the paint color, what are the differences between the '63-'64-'65 model 800's?  .....I know the '63 had an S7-D Wisconsin, while the '64 & '65 had an S8-D.

The front of the hood's are different , but not visible on this one, for this one I am going off the control knobs which are black and the white implement lift grip which was only used on the 63' models.

If the seller is starting at $700 dont even waste your energy. There's no way someone like that will come to a realistic price. $150 is reasonable, and even then I'd probably pass. Tell him to enjoy his lawn art.

I like it, looks complete and original.

It it doesn't smoke I'd pay up to 250 for it if I did not have to travel too far.
