Does anyone know or have a manual that would state the oil capacity for the Clinton model 499 (4-1/2 hp) that I have on my old Springfield mower? No Dipstick and the overflow/add pipe has been modified on mine to make it difficult to tell when full (or overfull). Thanks much!

Sorry my Clinton Service manual seems to be too old for that model...... yours must be post 1956-7.

Couldn't find the info in what I have and had no luck with Google, so posted the question on ASECC site and got the answer of 1.25 pts. The guy that answered does know his Clintons so should be good information. Hope this helps.
