Boy oh boy did I have a day today.  left out this morning at 8 am to go and get three more garden tractors to fix and sell, figured I can make a little extra $$ this way to keep the hobby going. got a bolens husky in rough shape, a case 220 in ok cond missing some carb work and fuel pump, and an Ingersoll of the same vintage in nice cond that I think Ican have running and going really easily.  got a few things done around the house, think I sold my craftsman gt5000.  a good day overall.

about 5 this afternoon my wife comes out with her tablet grinning from ear to ear telling me I have to see this, I look and there is a panzer for sale about 20 min from me on facebook, runs drives ready to go with a snowblower, just needs a battery.  I look and say ok get in touch --------  she promptly replies that she has and we need to get going to go pick it up !!!!  an hour later I have it home and am a very happy PETE!!!!!!  great deal here, I cant even admit what I gave for this :D I almost felt guilty when I paid her.  I need to figure out what is wrong with the charging system, that is not working.

That is ONE Ugly panther!  What's the deal, is it painted silver, or is it just sanded and not rusting yet?  That light, rear basket would have to go first thing. Not sure I like that big blower on it either. Not a real brand for it?  Poor grill holding up the springs to keep it up. Think that would go to if mine. Rest look normal I guess, the Ingersol looks like easiest to bring back and sell quick.

Yeah its amazing the casting didn't break on the panzer grill. Hopefully you restore to its original self again

Congratulations, you've done well. You need to do something special for your wife. My wife was using her little MTD today for getting around(the walk to the south yard is too hard for her). I had her try the Case 220 I bought a few weeks ago. Good Luck, Rick

You might want to rotate the snow blower shoot the other way before you test it  :poke:   :smilewink:   :D

Great haul

My wife is by far the best thing to ever happen to me !!!  she enjoys these tractors as much as I do.    That little panzer started rite up and drove around fine, the only trouble I had was the battery I brought was to big to fit under the seat and the cables weren't long enough to reach if I left it in the basket so when I started it I had to stand there and hold the battery end on and as soon as I unhooked it the tractor quit.  got to get that figured out.  otherwise it all looks original, it has been repainted that grey and they did a very thorough job of it, everything but the motor is grey.  the blower looks to be original but I doubt the lift mount and lights are, the lift assist springs hook to the grille as well.  I don't know if you guys have ever seen a panzer up close but that grille is a cast piece of steel and probably weighs 60 lbs, this thing is stout !!!!

I will look in the manuals section to see if I can figure out the rite way for that blower to lift so I can get all that other stuff of there.  after that I am going to leave it as is for awhile.  to many other things need attention rite now, I know no one wants to hear this but winter is coming  and I need to get ready for it.

You may try polarizing the generator before diving too deep into your charge problem. I have seen people spend much money and work before trying that. ( disconnect battery terminal from regulator and touch + from battery to field terminal on generator just enough to get a spark ) GOOD LUCK.
