Have an lx178 that the battery light is on when you first start the mower. After about 30 seconds or so it goes out. I have not looked much into it yet. But what I did notice is that at battery it shows that it is charging at around +18.58v. I wouldn't think that this would be normal. But what would cause this? Bad regulator?

sounds like it to me. around 13.25-14.5 ish is usually considered normal for a 12 volt system.

That's what I figured as well. Just never seen a regulator over charge. Usually they fail the other way and either under charge or discharge.
