I checked the lemon law, doesn't apply to used vehicles. It's Friday and no word from the dealer yet. I think I will accept some loss just to get out from under this car. Daughter is now in a 04 Pontiac Grand AM.

Don't, you shouldn't have to.
I would think they would be eager to at least have you out there telling people that you were "taken care of " rather than you "got the business"

Survivor,----- Outwit, Outlast, Outplay. Sounds like they are waiting for you to give up and go away. Persevere instead and make them do the right thing.

Sadly this car has probably been a vicious cycle with a long list of short term owners.

Car facts show one owner, and all services done at this same dealership. They still have the car, and I think it will remain that way.

A friendly note from your lawyer or even the Consumer protection agency asking if they are going to take any further action on this vehicle might be in order right about now. Just to let them know you are not going to bury your head in the sand.  :smilewink:

Hard to believe the charge for key reprogramming my local gm dealer cut and programmed mine from the vin number for less than $30. Sounds like it's time to demand a refund and part ways from these clowns. BTW a local pay here lot is known for installing remote kill boxes to prevent cars that are behind in payment from starting and I'm wondering if they put one of these on the car and now can't figure out how to fix it.

The more I have learned about the transaxle in this car I found you don't want to baby it, and don't treat it like an automatic, like letting the car inch foreword at red lights. Come to a complete stop! Inching will cause the clutches (yes 2 of them) to slip generating heat. I found a very informative video and watched it to the end and then read all the comments (takes about 2 hours) but real informative.
As for mine, I haven't been able to drive it much as it still has a intermittent "no start" condition. I have opened a case With Ford about this, and plan to drive it to work this week, and video each time I start it so to catch it in a "no start" condition again.
Still planning to dump it as soon as possible.

Man that will be a boring series of videos.

Didn't take long to capture the no start going to work today. Took 3 tries at the gas pump, and once at work, I have two witnesses and a video of 6 attempts before it started. I updated my case with Ford, and informed them of the whitnesses and videos.

Is there a way of finding the previous owner? That might be enlightening.

Wow, quite a few other Focus starting problem videos show up with yours.  They've obviously got an issue there.
