I believe Speedex is a contemporary of Wheel Horse. They came out around 1945 or thereabouts.

The Pond brothers (Harold and Elmer) started Speedex with the first rider being produced around 1938/39.  Eventually the brothers went their separate ways with one (Elmer) starting what eventually became Wheelhorse.

They always look 20 yrs behind on designs. I have some from 80's and newer people think from 60s! S24 one of last series that line, but this is early round hood one, not barn hood like end of run had.
