Hello,

     I have a 1963 nine hp engine in my Jim Dandy I'm restroring.I have a electrical wire coming out of the engine and one coming out of the points,and I need to know where they get hooked to.If anybody could help,thanks.              M.Levan

You probably have a Briggs and Stratton 23D engine. Look in our Manuals Section to download the manual. Post some pics for more detailed help from us. Good Luck, Rick

My question was wrong,what I need very badly is a ign. coil.I wired it up wrong and burned the coil up.I know how to do it now,but I need another coil. The engine is a B&S model 23DFB,type 012701,serial# 7076.I checked the B&S web site and can't find a coil for that old an engine.Any help is appreciated.   M.Levan

can hook points and condisor up to a kohlor style coil with resister and run it off a toggle switch

I believe the coil part # is 290880. Double check to make sure.
