I cannot even find a hood for mine for less than $100 with shipping.

I know what you mean DT.  Yeah, shipping on the big parts is a killer.  I just had a receiver hitch shipped to me that was a freebie.  It cost $64 to ship it.  It was about 1/2 price of a new one, but still a pricey shipping cost.  I have 2 hoods sitting with my parts that I haven't even considered selling because of shipping.  If you know someone traveling my way, I'm sure we could work out a deal.

This tractor deal coinman got was great.  I haven't had a free tractor deal in a long time.  I have gotten some good deals, but no freebies.  The fact that it was a NH/Ariens made it even sweeter!

If there is no PTO shaft sticking out the back, there is no rear PTO on the tractor.  They can be added/installed.  It was optional.

I just saw an auction add for a NH S-14. Comes with a snow blower and blade. I think I will have to go see it. Its a popular auction, so I am sure it will go high

same tractor as the Ariens GT or S series/ Where are you guys finding these? I cannot even find a hood for mine for less than $100 with shipping. My Ariens looks identical except for being orange instead. It is parked in a friend's barn, forgotten about til I get caught up on other things around here. I do look for needed parts for it any chance I get but am currently aggravated with what I am finding, cost wise. (and I aint been buying what I am finding, at present)

I am in the same boat as you.  I really want another one but there is no way I am going to pay the high price when I do find them which is not very often.

I wish mine had the rear PTO so I could come up with some sort of cool rear mower setup using the deck and the PTO.

I think I would need one that had some sort of clutch or something so I could turn it off during moves from one place to another.  My dream would is to be able to fashon up something like a finsih mower/ bush hog on the back attached to the 3pt.

Member sueiswam adapted a pto from a gt series to his New Holland. He had to change the way it hooked to the shaft. But then he had an electric clutch.

Hmm, that is interesting.  I wonder if he took pics of the setup?

Tilt steering is 71'only. So could easily be a 72'. Yeah the hood is the wrong color it is also supposed to be the same color as the seat pan. I actually have color paint codes but will take me a little time to dig them up
