While out mowing the weeds ( the grass is all dead from no rain )this morning, the oil fill plug on the 2012 broke off. The tractor and myself proceeded to get a hot oil shower. After replacing the plug and wiping the tractor off I finished mowing the weeds. The tractor and my skin have never been so shiny. Have a good day, Jim

Glad things came out well just the same.
I watched my father-in-law take a bath in hydraulic oil once.
He had bought a WD45 and to run the loader the blade circuit had to be shut off.
Previous owner had put a brass water shutoff valve in.
Allis ran a high pressure system and the stem, handle and nut must have gone 40 ft in the air!
Just lucky no one was in the line of fire. A proper hydraulic valve was put in.

How did he oil fill plug get broken off while mowing?

My wife's aunt was mowing with her craftsman LT yeas ago, told me her foot kept getting hot oil on it, she kept mowing. Needless to say, I inherited it with a knocking rod.

I also just inherited my FIL 2011 Troybilt LT, the plastic quick release oil drain plug got cracked by the steering arm while he was mowing. It blew the rod and governor apart.

Got blasted by hot oil when a hydraulic hose blew on our hayrake a few years ago, not pleasant.
