Found this online. My guess is that it is a Frankenstein bolens. My question is what was it before its transformation ?

Not a bad idea for light loads.  To heavy a load and it could get top heavy.  To many dump trailers have the bottom of the box on the ground when they dump and spread stuff out rather than on a pile.

It was a mid 70's RER

Definitely not made for hauling heavy loads though!
