My Army buddy dropped this off to see what I could do with it. All I have been able to locate is this. American Lifan LF100ST-5. He said he would buy the parts, and I provide the TLC and my Grandson could use it. He wants to leave it here as I have more room to ride it. PS he only paid $50 for it so I am not too concerned with the arrangement.

The previous owner has disabled the key switch and wired a separate start button. Battery is dead but my buddy gave me cash to buy a new one. I want to see if this will start before spending money on it.

The pull start works, and it seems to have good compression. The brake reservoir is busted and will need replaced, again the engine needs to run first.

When my Grandson comes back tomorrow, we will pull all the plastic and see what I can figure out on the wiring. I may try and jump it from one of the tractors to try and make it run. I have had no luck finding a wire diagram.

A really need a wire diagram for this. Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Thanks, I think I'll try and get this to fire up before throwing $$$ at it, seeing it isn't really mine. Thanks for the link. I am more in need of the handlebar switches, and brake resovar.

I got to looking there is more info on this brand than other chinese atvs. I just noticed the pull start you should be able to get it to start that way if the switch is bypassed.

I saw that in my searches, my issue is the start/run/kill switch and the brake resivor on the handlebar. I am "almost" sure I can get the engine running.

Sounds like a good arrangement for your grandson!

Most of the lifan engines are copies of the best engines ever made. Honda 50cc 70cc 90cc 110cc. Great design.

The biggest enemy of those "import" ATVs and dirt bike are the people who rig them up. Seems like everyone wants to get the snips oit and rewire it.

My buddy has a 150cc model. Runs great but it frequently breaks. He has upgraded a lot of things to use better parts. He got it for a song though. Brand new delivered to his door for 499. Compared to other kid sized quads for 3000 bucks.

Reason I have two sitting in the field they came from companies that no longer exist. I can't find a wiring diagram or harness and the wires are rigged. I have a TaoTao one that runs good and ebay is loaded with parts for.

That looks like a tether switch minus the tether.

It won't have spark if that is a tether switch unless ya hold down the button.

Hey pop a penny in the reservoir eye sight and JB weld the crap out of it.It might hold up.And it will only cost ya 1 penny and a glob of jb weld or better yet Quik Steel. Then fill it up and bleed the caliper with the lid off.

Thanks for the tips, I don't think it is a tether switch, He was told that was the start button. It has a key switch that is completely destroyed. I am hoping to trace some wires today and try and figure out the start / stop / run circuit. Do you think I might be able to use a GT key switch on this?
