Here is my new to me G5200, runs excellent, just under 1900 hours. I did get the mower deck, which runs nice and quiet but needs a bit of rust repair. So its off the tractor and off to our shops welder in the near future for reworking. I dont need it to mow right now, we mow our small yard with a push mower. I got the tractor to restore and adapt a sleeve hitch to the rear for plow days. You do not see hardly any of these early Kubota garden tractors restored, yet they are becoming antiques in thier own right. Mike

Yessssss, come over to the dark side! Once you get used to a diesel sipping fuel vs a gasser gulping it, you will never go back. Kubota makes an awsome little diesel. One of the best out there IMHO. The older G series tractors tend to be one of the more affordable diesels to buy unless you get real lucky and find a Cub Cadet or JD owner that doesn't know what they have. CC uses Kubota diesels in thier older GT's and JD uses the Yanmar engines. Then you have the air cooled Lombardini engines in the Allis/Simplicity GT's like the one I have for sale. Mike

Your gonna love it. The biggest problem is they use so little fuel that forgetting to fill it up before running out of fuel can be a problem. You were lucky to find one with so few hours. Very nice looking machine.

No big issue, I went thru diesel school as part of my degree at the local vo-tech school. Even if she needs a total rebuild, thats also no problem, only part I cannot rebuilt is the injectors and pump itself. Those have to go to a specialist shop. Diesels only get into your wallet if you dont maintain them or your fixing someone else's lack of maintance. 4-7 thousand hours on those little bota diesels is common with no major issues. Try that with any gasser. Most all the gassers I see thru our shop are used up at 1100 to 2000 hours max. I will take working on a diesel any day over a gasser. I enjoy when a diesel comes in for service. They are not for everyone, but many more would enjoy them if they were educated on proper upkeep. And restarted an air locked diesel sucks, but its not a game ender. Just a matter of getting fuel all the way to the injectors. Cant wait to make more progress on my sleeve hitch tomorrow after work.
