A fellow I know did work at my son's house back in May and saw my son working on a motorcycle, taking off the wheels  , he asked looks new & who's it was  , my son said it was his and " don't tell my dad because he'll be mad "   we of course he told me he bought a KTM , I said  "dirt bike ?"   No road race type .. I've been at his house between then and now and  if it wasn't for him posting pictures on facebook last weekend he still might not have told me lol . Did question him Fri when we took him out for dinner .  He put a deposit on  it last Oct. and if the dealer got any he would get first dibs . The dealer got 2 so he got this one . He took the wheels off when he got it home to get them coated , , now he's has a custom exhaust ordered , I asked how much for the exhaust $500 ? No dad more , he wouldn't tell . I asked if he got a god deal on the bike , " list price if you want it if not there are others on waiting list " dealer told him . To be young , single ,  I still would have bought a nice little tractor with a loader instead lol

Life sure changes when you start supporting a family. Toys are smaller and you learn to enjoy the cheaper side.

It reminds me of when I got my first bike. My folks didn't like bikes, but one day I realized I was old enough I could get one anyway If I wanted. (Years later I found out my Dad wanted one but Mom wouldn't let him.)

When I was in high school (mid 60's) we had Dad talked into getting a honda 90 to ride back and forth on the farm.......until Mom found out......no dice. So when I turned 18 I bought a 1966 120 Bonneville, waited until I got the title in my name and then rode it home. Mom asked who's it was, I said mine, she said "it _ _ _ _, you take it right back where you got it", told her too late, title was in my name. Loved cruising on that thing, about 40 mph on the back roads. Sold it and miss it, but have a 1977 Honda 750 a friend gave me, will have to do until I sneak a newer one in the garage some day. My wife with me rididng a motorcycle,  :(.

I miss those days sometimes!

Really cool looking bike, I'd probably need to carry clean underwear around with me...

My last bike was a GSX 1100, would pull the front wheel from a slow roll in 2nd gear, would go from 0-60 in a smidgeon over 3 seconds. My wife and daughter badgered me mercilessly until I sold it, that was mid 90's, still have the helmet, but my biking days are over. I rode for 25 + years though, and loved it all.
