Well ------  I went and got it yesterday, what do you guys think ??  I am very happy with it, nice original tractor.  it has a few issues mainly in the motor.  I cant seem to figure out the governor it wont idle down, I played with it for a bit but gave up due to many other projects going at one time.  I had to rig the carb a bit to get an idle stop on there, I think something was broken of before I got it, I need to do some work to the engine eventually so I will tackle it then.  otherwise this is a very solid machine.  I need to fix that muffler for sure !!

not really sure about the engine yet, I need to have a good look at it.  Still need to get the serial number for the list here and have a good look at the rest of the tractor .  maybe later this week.

Good looking D4-10 you got there. Here's the link to the repair manual, http://gardentractor...-repair-manual/ .  It has a good section about setting the governor up. Hope you can get the engine figured out.

Good looking machine!!!!

Check and see if your governor springs are all intact there should be a return spring and a spring conected to the governor lever.

The manual linked in the posts above will also tell you how to set the governor linkages.

Looks like someone really went to town on that muffler LOL, I do have a few original pipes still left that originally went on these tractors if you plan on making it original again.

That engine is either the Wisconsin TR10D or TRA10D engine

Nice looking tractor. Looks like it is a late model based on the white wheels and red front hubs along with the style of tag. Does not have the steering wheel that was used at the very end. I'm betting very late 9000s or early 10000s with tra10d just before the switch to Tecumseh.

Yours is a later built tractor without the optional rear PTO, just the plate covering where it would go.
