Figured I'd add a pictures here.

You may or may not of red my dr400 was stolen after I had it only a few days.

So I went to find a replacement. I found a 2006 Kawasaki klx250s for 1700 on craigslist. 11k street miles on it. Bike is cherry. It's never been flogged on off road. All stock but a nice set of protraper bars, extended risers, a set of bark busters, and a manual cam chain tensioner.

She definitely doesn't have the power of the 400 but she runs out real nice! I am very happy with it. I did find out yesterday that the 50/50 tires are not the greatest in anything sloppy. They work but with my skill level lower than the average bear I had a fight on my hands.

I also found out what people of told me about riding a dirt bike on the road faster than 55. The wind beat the crap out of you! A nice wind shield is in order

Trail rode it tonight a few miles. Felt better. Not great but better. Also cruised 10 miles of gravel roads that feels better as well. Getting somewhat more comfortable.

Congratulations on picking a fine dual purpose bike. In time you will get used to it and find the traction is there.

Put 150 miles on it so far. 75 on the street and 75 on the trails. Been riding with my friends in the dirt every night a lot. RoDE about 5 hours tonight.

I did order a set of dunlop 606s. Read great reviews on them on and off road.

But this evening I sat down with the suspension setting handbook and looked at stuff I don't understand. Race sag and static sag. Holy cow! What a difference. Handling is improved 500 times. Traction is much improved the front and rear don't wash out in the dirt and gravel like they did. I am much more stable and feel so much better. We were racing around a field tonight and I could control the bike so much better on the damp grass.

I want an extra set of rims to put street tires on and a set to put off road tires on. But man what an expense.

Went for a big ride last night.  Had 5 dirt bikes, 2 atvs and 1 sxs.

4 of the dirt bikers were insane, then you had me, I didn't attempt much.  I managed to semi lay it down on a loose hill up to the main trail but nothing hurt.

Thanks tg.

The quad? My buddy brought one of those to the camp for the big ride last week. It was a blast to ride!

I have been riding to work from the camp here in wv. What a blast on the 55mph roads. Especially now with the cool fall weather. It's so nice. Not gonna last much longer.

I may buy a dedicated trail ride. Look at a 2016 crf250x. Go big or go home

Not familiar with KTM products.

I don't think I could handle a fast bike :rocker2:
