Hello I just purchased a used ariens gt 18 hp ruggerini rd180  for 1400 cdn , changed the oil, cleaned the gunk in the fuel filter bowl, got ride of the mice nests in the cold air housing  , guess he figured not to add the proper filters to keep crap and mice out..

will supply pic

the engine runs great for a hour then looses power as in torque does not die out ..

just looses power when hot ?

Also found a parts list of the engine ,does anyone know where to get parts for this engine

I am not sure but I see alot of "Ruggerini/lombardini" listings. I dont know if the parts interchange or not. If they do then Kohler is the North American distributor for Lombardini stuff. Hope that helps.

Welcome to GTtalk!
I don't know much about diesels. But it sounds like a great tractor.

Try running some Power Services thru the fuel, some of that gunk might have gotten past some of the filters and fouled the injectors.  If he ran it with the air boxes plugged up, he might have overheated the engine and the rings have lost some of their temper. Does she smoke alot or burn clean once warmed up? My Allis 920 thats for sale had been overheated and it smoked like a steam engine, a real skeeter killer!  Once I honed and installed new rings all that stopped.  I am more guessing a fueling issue, either the injector pump is getting weak or injector issues.    Mike

figured it out, it was the very large fuel filter system for such a small motor , added a small  glass filter by passed the larger filter and noticed when fuel tank was low  it would start to sputter.. as in 1/6 of a tank  i could see air bubbles    and the machine ran like poo. low tank   filled it up ran great

a Tip:  few told me if running crappy and the engine is hot   put cold water on the injector pump   if it runs normal  injector problems or get a long hose

The engine does smoke a little at low rpm but when art high  it seems to be better...
