Welcome!  Sounds like a real fair price to me.  I'm a big fan of these old Homelite machines made by Allis Chalmers.  It looks like it has the original Briggs in it, which would have been a 32 inch 16hp.  I don't believe there was an 18hp single cylinder Briggs until the Intek's of late.  There was certainly not one offered in the early '70's.  Kohler offered one a few years later, but it was a big flop.  The model # should be 328430.  Some folks get misdirected by the misprint on the simpletractors website calling the Briggs in a T-16 an 18hp engine...it is not.

Hello and welcome to GTtalk!  That is a great old tractor you have there.  Those are few and far between.  Sounds like it runs ok.  Why sell it?  That one is a keeper!

Hello Billy M... I bought a new 24hp diesel Yenmar with a front end loader.  I need the space and some extra cash from this ol gal... EVERYONE is correct.. it is a 16hp... my bad.  I went to start it yesterday to move it and it wouldnt start.. somewhat temperamental.  But its got a new carb (3 yrs old) been re-built and has GREAT compression... need to move this out of my shed and have it gone before winter.  I would hate to have her outside at the very end of my ownership term with her.  But it may come to that if its not gone by winter.. lil help anyone??
