Brought home another Ride A Matic this weekend. It has the wrong engine and is missing the belt guards and a few other minor parts, but is restorable. It was painted green and yellow but should be gold and white. It also came with the frame for the gang mower attachment.image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

I down loaded the manual for this today and when I blow up the picture on the cover page it looks like there were decals of some sort in the notches in the grill. Is that right? If so what color were they and are they ribbed?

A nice find and I look forward to seeing it being restored to its former glory.

Here's mine but in red. It will get restored back in gold with white wheels as originally made.

I never saw any with decals there, but thought it was an interesting detail on the manual cover.

you are luck to have found one in such complete condition. If you could can you get a a pic of the motor pulley and some basic dimensions of it? I have a '58 & '59 RAMs but I am sure the pulleys are different due to the friction reverse used on earlier RAMs.

I will keep y'all posted on the restoration. I will not start this one until I get the parts to put it back to original. So far I see that I need an engine, starter/generator, mounts for the starter, bracket for the bottom of the grill, belt guards (thats a biggy), starter button, and a key for the ignition switch.

TBrooks,

My RAM is in Sussex (some 280 miles away from Devon) awaiting a light restoration. I wll try to get some measurements for you but hopefully someone else on this forum could assist?

Thanks
