Don't have any of that! I'll have find the color and see what I think.

Started tearing it down today. But I have another issue. Look at the last pic!

I can probably repair it, but may take a couple days and numerous adult beverages! Anybody have a spare part laying about?

Steve seems to think he can patch that up, so it's in his hands! May be looking for another part later on though! Going after paint tomorrow morning. Then I'll bust the rear end loose and go from there. Just need to stack things so he know what gets Orange!

What did you decide on the rear ?  My choice would be black. Black and Orange compliment each other nicely.

Haven't decided as yet on the rear, Tom. But black would work.

I have paint! Not the Matrix, though! That's $70 a quart! This is Custom Paint Systems Synthetic Enamel. It's Waukesha Orange, just a shade lighter than the Magic AC Orange. Only $34 for a whole gallon, so I have enough to do the 416 and the Jake! It mixes at 8-1-1. Yes that last is a hardner.

Got a lot accomplished today on tear down. Would have done more, but it sprinkled off & on all day, so I couldn't take much outside at a time! Some things, I wire brushed and got some Rust Reformer on so they could dry.

I think I am going to paint the complete rear end Orange. The trailer hitch will be black along with the 3-point.

The hardener is very important to a durable finish. That will last a long time. Guess you made up your mind on the rear color.  A gallon of paint ( unmixed) will definitely do two tractors, we painted cars with less than that.

I got out early this morning and took everything off the front section. Got it and some other things degreased and started stripping paint. Came off pretty easily with the wire wheel. Here's some pics.

This is the last time this will be seen! The numbers read 1690212 and 1978. Guess that's the year!

That rear end color is not painted as yet! I can change my mind!

UH OH>>>>>>>>>>> where's the cup holder?????????   :smilewink:

In my hand!

Here's the 'Cup Holder'! It looks whitish due to being kept in the freezer when not in my hand!

I keep going back to the rear end color, so Orange it may not be. Maybe a Black center with Orange axle housings. Or just the opposite? Decisions, decisions! :wallbanging: :rocker: :hitting_self_roller: :flipping_flapjacks:

Black center would hide any fluid leaks ? Orange ends would be nice touch.
