Check out the "repair" on this air cleaner by the PO....

 

It would not clear the hose fitting on the carb.  Instead of replacing the straight barb

with a 90 degree L fitting, he beat a big dent in the housing,

then butchered a hole in the center screen so it would fit into the can.  :(

Have to give him credit for one thing. He did a fairly neat job of beating the dent in it.

Cant argue that point...At least its on the backside out of sight, and still usable!

Maybe he needed the tractor for something couldn't fine the "right" part and used what he had to make it work.
