Hi. I recently picked up a wonder boy 700 and my question is should I restore it or leave it as found? It's in good shape already but it also shows its use. I personally like well maintained work horses but I want to go in the proper direction with this tractor. It is complete with its original engine and 32" mower deck.

Yes apparently they called them wonder boys for 59 only. It's right on the hood emblem. They changed it in 60 due to model confusion.

They were called wonderboys for a couple years, and overlapped in 60/61 with the "700" (dropped wonderboy designation because it was also used on rear engine riders). By 62 they became the 725. My Wonderboy is a 1960.

If you feel it needs paint, spray away! Quite honestly, since you asked for opinion, I couldnt be paid to paint that thing. Its one of the nicest original 700s I have ever seen. I couldnt live with myself if I painted it....but thats just me =)

I also say leave it as found, just find a correct nelson muffler for it and maybe the diamond tread front tires they more commonly came with.  Awsome find!    Espicaly with its original engine still in it.   Mikd

Thanks to all. I too feel I will leave it be. I'll work on finding the items it needs and a few more attachments I could use. Thanks again.

Very nice. Good to see these tractors still kicking. I just picked up a dump cart for mine. Now to find a good 32" tiller.

Killer A-C, What a coincidence, my daughters name is Hannah and she also has a 700 Wonderboy! She wants me to paint it pink.
