As some of you know, I made an offer on the Bush Hog D4-10 that was for sale on ebay a couple weeks ago. Needless to say the seller and I didn't reach an agreement (mainly seller thought it was made out of gold). To my surprise he re-listed it after the buy it now or best offer auction was over.

When he re-listed it, he set the starting bid at $199. There were two bids on it within the first day which took it up to $205. It sat there the whole time till the day the auction was to end and then was bid up to $255. I waited till the last couple seconds and put a max bid of $325 on it and it ended at $260.

I have been a little iffy on the whole deal from the get go. Apparently the seller was selling it for a friend and the friend was out of town and he was going to call me once the friend got back in town. I gave him till Monday at 4:30 to call me which he didn't and then I called him again. He said he had talked to his friend and that Tuesday or Wednesday would work for picking it up. So I asked the guy for his friend's address and phone number and he proceeded to tell me he would have to call him and get his address.

That kind of set off a red flag but I went along with it. He asked if it would be better to text me the information or to call me and I told him to call. I gave it like another hour to hear something which I didn't. So I sent the guy a text and told him that if it was easier for him to text me the info that was fine.

I got home from work and was on the phone with Dan(broken2) and my phone beeped a couple times. Once we got off the phone the guy actually texted me the guys info. So I sent the info to Dan so he could setup a time to pick it up. Dan told me he was going to pick it up tonight at 7 and would call me once he gets home. So I will keep ya all updated :D

It is at it's foster home

Dan is going to send me some pics and I will get them posted as soon as he sends them. It apparently has a sleeve hitch and it also has a rear pto. Dan was also able to find out what really happened to why it seemed a little shady. The guy that sold it for him was supposed to have put a $500 reserve on it and didn't. So when it sold for what it did the owner was upset. Dan said the guy was a little cold when he first got there but by the time he left he was laughing with him and loosened up. He realized it wasn't our fault and Dan told him it was going to a good home and was going to be restored. :D

But ya know, being you said she's being restored, that to keep up with the Jones' (me), every single bolt & part is to be blasted or electrolizized, and a new shiny coat of paint applied.......to EVERY single part! My D4-10 is the ONLY tractor I've ever done such an extreme amount of work on to restore. Glad you have possession of her.....well that Dan does! lol Hey Dan.....nice D4-10 ya have there! LOL

You guys crack me up. I do need to send an extra thanks to Dan for picking up both of these tractors and fostering them for me as well as bringing them all the way down to plow day.

Dan sent me some pics, I am going to post what I have so far, gotta call it a night. If there are more pics that arrive later on I will post them in the morning :D

Looking the pics over close as I can, looks to be only 2 things missing...one is the cast grill "Bush Hog" emblem, and the other is the one gast tank strap. I got you covered on the strap. I hope the trans is good, cause the rest is in great shape. The deck looks hardly used! Even has the original cast exhaust elbow! And the steering wheel center cap is still in place. Both of my steering wheels were without their center caps for years, and caused the hole to shrink into a triangle shape. You did good Dan......I mean George! LOL

You also have original headlights...I can spot them by the small circle in the center of the glass. These aren't sealed beams, but 2 piece lens/reflector, with replaceable bulb.

The more I look at it the more it is growing on me. I really like the look from the front, reminds me of my Peterbilt tractor with the round headlights and narrow hood :D
