Not any time spent on GT's today. After milking this morning, I started re-doing the cattle trailer. I decided not to haul anything to market again until I got the trailer floor supported strong. The original sidewall was just bent to form the floor support and started out only about 1/8" thick, and rust has taken it's toll. The metal holding the floor's outer edges was bending down bad. I was afraid I'd end up grinding a cow's legs off on the pavement. So putting 1/4" thick x 3 1/2" angle iron for the support, the 1/8" sheet up the side to good metal. Gonna last a long long time after I'm finished.
Going down both sides & across the front. The wooden floor is still in great shape as far as I can tell, but looking hard at it before I'm done.

That could have been a new and inventive way for trimming their nails LOL.

Looks like it is going to be nice and strong once you are done

Looks like you are doing a nice job Daniel. I'm sure the cows appreciate it!

In my minds eye, I flashed back to the scene from National Lampoons Vacation with the dog collar tied to the bumper...

Kenny, this trailer came all the way from Oklahoma! A fellow bought horses out there, so bought the trailer when he got there. Soon as he got back to Ky with the horses, he sold the trailer, as he already had one....just didn't wanna pull it to & from. He sold it for what he paid for it to a car dealer. We bought it off the dealer for $3500, but that was over 20yrs ago. Not sure what they run these days.
