Been thinking (again) about one of these. Spotted several 24"~ of 1/4" X1-1/4" strap I have salvaged from something else. Tried bending over a piece of pipe in the vice. That wasn't working well. Then thought about the 20 Ton press sitting there. HMMMMM? Yep, it'll make round bends!

Did some head scratching and started bending corners in the straps.

Used the band saw to cut things to length. I'll end up with about 16" in width and close to 20" tall if I want. This pic is from the side so you can see things better.

Good idea with the press. That will make a nice bumper. Is it going on the Allis?

Nice job Kenny!  Is the press new to you? I bought one 2 years ago and haven't gotten around to use it yet. Good Luck, Rick

Not sure yet where it may end up. It was very easy to bend these, so if I find more metal I can make more.

I've had the press for a while. Made a die to make 90° bends with it, but this is the first for a radius bend.

I got everything cut to length this morning. Just need to grind bevels for the welds now.

Got it welded together. Just need to figure out what tractor gets it to make the mounts!

Thanks guys! It may be a little large but I think it will look pretty good and do the job. Still not sure where it's going.

I'm hoping this build will show folks how easy these are to make. I have about 10' of the strap metal in this. Could have made it shorter!
