Got a call from a guy today that has a Scag Turf Tiger with a Kaw on it. Runs for alittle over an hour and dies but starts up after a minute+/- with choke... Wazzat?

( It is fixed, just want to see what pops up)

Sounds like it might be vapor-locking... I had a Case 444 do the same.  The PO put a metal cased filter on it right by the engine block... the filter got hot and the fuel didn't flow until it cooled down.

I have a comment on that, but it is hot and nobody is working in their shop and need something to do while sitting in the AC, so I will try to hold off on replies to help out the other members have something to do by troubleshooting via communication devices like I did

Stuck exhaust valve, only when hot. Happened to me. Took a lot of time to figure out. Noel.

The gas tank cap vent is constricted.

Just curious when it died did it do so abruptly or did it spit and sputter some first.

BS got it.. plugged up vent on the gas cap.

I had him blow it out with an air nozzle. Mowed for 3 hrs and never had a problem.

A shady mower shop would have sold him 2 new gas caps at $30 each, 2 hrs labor to put them on and 2 more hours to test it (mow the shop owners grass).
