I got this little trailer yesterday, a guy gave it to me for scrap metal + a little bit of metal in the back of it. I think the trailer is to nice to scrap, it just needs all the studs replaced in the left hub, 2 studs are broke off and the rest are stripped so they wont tighten.

But for free, I can't complain.

Not bad at all! I'd put a piece of heavy gauge metal over the inside of the tailgate to make sliding stuff out easier.  Otherwise, besides replacing wheel studs, she's great!

Great price and just a little work and you will have a very nice trailer. You may want to check the wheel bearing while you are working on it. Love the freebies!

Gotta love it!!! Practical, handy, and best of all FREE!! I like stuff like that, in fact, for as long as I can remember,my buddies dad has always called me "cheapness". Lol maybe change my screen name?
All BS aside that's a nice little rig, great find.

That tongue is longer than most frames when bent in, seems better there. Wonder why studs went bad?  Maybe better, heavier wheel and tires might be best also, those look pretty worn. Specially if wheel is all wanged out in stud holes, don't use that.

Looks like it might have been a Datsun Lil Hustler originally. They had an extra leaf spring and were rated for heavier loads. By the way older Chev. 6 hole wheels will fit that trailer. I put them on my 77 many years ago.

That box is in really nice condition. Most are rusted pretty badly.

Just be sure that you have some decent tongue weight on it when fully loaded.  The portion of bed behind the axle is longer than the front, so it would be easy to have negative tongue weight if loaded evenly front to back.  Negative tongue weight is NOT a good thing!

I agree with Daniel!

You really have to watch that on the '70's/80's import pickups.  The extended cab models used the same wheelbase as the standard cab long beds and the axle is almost at the front of the bed on those.

I have already noticed that the front end is very light, when the trailer is empty it tips over backwards when you get the tongue higher then 12" off the ground.
This will probably just be used for work around the yard. It is basically going to be a over sized garden cart for my Kubota tractor, I would like to make this into a hydraulic dump bed one of these days, but I doubt that going to happen anytime soon.

Free is a great price. If you don't find a use for it you could probably sell it on craigslist. Any money is a profit at this point
