I found this on CL the other day and couldn't pass it up since it was only $100. I bought it because my brother's SS16 needs some parts and I can use some stuff off it too. The seller said it hadn't run for 7 or so years, today I messed with it for a few minutes and it fired with gas dumped in the carb. My guess is that the carb is gummed up from sitting. The tractor also came with a Haban snowblower which looks like it has only seen light use. IT's hard to move on your own though, I found that out the hard way.

That was a great deal! I've been keeping my eyes open for one of those blowers for my SS/18. That machine might just run fine after you clean the fuel system.

Yep, it was in Jeannette. I will have to pass lol, I've already been offered 200 but I don't really want to sell this one whole. It can help repair our Suburban 12 and SS16

Nice find Matt.
The fuel, let me suggest something. Take the bowl off, Mix up some gas/acetone and see if it will go thru the lines. After that, try to get it o run on it.

Use a hand truck/dolly to move the snow blower around...those things are sort of heavy and awkward... I will give you all the money in my pocket for that tractor..FOB my doorstep of course.

Man, hate to see it parted. That's exactly like mine, 1977 16/6. Wished I was closer, I would buy the motor for parts.

Has the nose been repaired? It looks to be in very good condition in the pics.

The nose cone is nice, a few small cracks but nothing that looks major. The motor runs nice, at least with gas dumped in the carb. I was told the head was redone not long before it was parked and I can believe that. I may end up keeping this one whole but just sticking it somewhere out of the way and forgetting about it for awhile. No matter what I am borrowing the rear tires for another tractor and the plastic fuel tank is going on my brother's SS16.
