The dipstick on the Peerless 2500 transaxle on my '98 White GT-2055 (model 14A-992-190) is broken off.  I can fabricate a new one but need to know the length and dimensions from the screw top of the markings for "add" and "full" .

Can anyone help?

Many thanks!

Welcome to GTTalk!
Unfortunately, your post is re-directed to the Jacobsen/Ford section.
Was your tractor made by Toro?
What kind of engine is in it?

Joe
P.s. I looked it up. Most likely an MTD made machine.
Probably did not have a dip stick for the rear end

  Welcome to the forum! I looked up the parts listing and see no dipstick, only plugs.

I was checking the axle I dug out in this thread to see if it had oil in it and guess what I found? A dipstick! Wonder if this is the one Larry was asking about?

Anyway, it's 3" from the plug bottom to the full mark!

Now I wonder if this may be where the axle was!

Just looked up the White and it looks like a different set up. But the dipstick is still available!

Thanks, Kenny!  It is not what mine has but I may be able to deduce something from it.

Here are some pictures of my dipstick on the back of the tractor and copies of the relevant drawings in the "White Operator's Manual, GT2055, Model Series 992 Hydrostatic Lawn Tractor".   (not sure why partstree.com doesn't show these...)

Trans dipstick
Trans Dipstick 1
Trans Dipstick 2

I suspect that the dipstick tube actually screws into where your plug with dipstick inserts.  So maybe I can reverse engineer something from your info.

Many thanks!!!!  (I really don't want to spend $50+ for a new dipstick)

Larry

Looks rather hard to use what I posted as it would be way down in there! Don't know of where else to find that as it seems to be Brand related! $50 is high, but some times you don't have much choice!

Part # is 951-0240 , $41.82, it is on parts tree under White , just hard to find

I know I'm splitting hairs when I say this, but if it has the horse or 3 blades of grass on it , it really isn't a White, buy that time it wasn't being built by MTD for White it was built by MTD using the name they bought from Allied . Most people probably don't care ,but when it comes to Oliver, Moline ,Cockshutt collectors - it makes a difference

I have a 95' gt2055. I'm not sure what transaxle they used for that year, but the dipstick is 8 7/8" long

Larry did you get the measurement you needed?  Got three sitting in the shop.
