Well I've fought with the internet people and the bank today and now I can't find where I was posting for Jim, but here's the newest.

After 4 weeks he is still face down or left side, but now supposed to get up every hour for a few minutes. AMEN ! This is good because he has been going CRAZY ! The books on tape/CD have barely kept him sane. He has had me FILL a notebook with things that need done or that he has thought through as to how they should be done.... He can see fair out of the left eye that just had laser repair so moving around the house is o.k. now. The re-constructed eye is just light and dark, but the Doctor is still positive and encouraging. He is still talking two more surgeries to get the job finished, but he says they are not as severe as this one was.

I  mowed with the Ventrac again yesterday between rains, that really is a powerful unit, I still prefer the Cubs but even around the house looked like a hay field again. Hoping the rain gives us a break and some of the boys can put up hay this weekend. At least two have committed to coming home this weekend. 4th of July is always one of his favorites, so this will be kinda rough on him. The Dr did say if we were very careful of no jarring he could come down stairs and sit on the patio for a few minutes. The best time of day on the farm is usually sitting on the patio looking over the valley as the lighting bugs come out at night and the animals sounds all change over as they settle in and the whippoorwills start calling back and forth. Jim has desperately missed that, so we will try it tonight. Jim's already saying some of the cows will have to go. We usually let the butcher ones go all summer on "free grass" but there just isn't going to be enough good hay this winter.

I'm way late with my day so till next time,

Char

Char, your other thread is HERE  If you'd like, I can merge this with that thread, or just leave as is if you wish.  Glad to hear things are improving, even if just a little.  To me, getting up even a little bit more would be a huge step up!

Thanks for the update. Glad he is doing better. Sounds like you are taking good care of him. That sittin on the porch thing gets better as you get older. Great therapy for what ails ya.  Good luck.                                                                                                                                                                                Roger

Hi Char, sorry I missed the original post. Here's hoping for the best of results on this. It's hard to be patient and follow orders when a persons feels fine and knows the chores are piling up, but we only get one set of eyes. The one factor about work is that a person is never done at the best of times, so making it wait a while is O.K.,

Well, 7 weeks out now and I'm finally allowed up more (to and from kitchen and patio, if I move slow) and can see fairly normal with left eye. (that one was just laser surgery) Right eye is just light and dark no focus yet ( surgen sys two more surgeries but not as bad as first one, he still expects good enough to go back to work) Poking away with one finger so to speak while the wife who has been an absolute angel/saint thru this all is out raking hay as I bumble around on here. Looking at screen is too bright just waters my eye up too much to really read much. Thanks everybody for all the prayers and thoughts.

Spent a good deal of time with eye surgeon yesterday, he took pictures and scans etc. and he is very pleased with progress. I'm saying but I can only see out of the left eye (sort of for short periods of time, then waters up too much to focus), still can't see out of right eye (just colors), he says you will !

We have apparently TWO more surgeries to go, my poor wife needs a vacation...

So we will be working on "The Bucket List" that  Mrs Oldeeres posted about earlier today.

Again thanks for the thoughts and prayers, it really does help to know others care. My wife trys to read me some posts every day or two seems like we have a number of folks as members struggling with health issues this summer, Deere n Horse, Olcowhand, Willie, and some others with family and friends, "may God give us all the strength to get better soon"
