Decided to restore this Bolens chainsaw this year, I was going to do my Ride-a-Matic but the way this summers been flying by I dont have enough time to work on a larger project.

 

Started to dismantle it yesterday

 

Also restoring the Bolens saw blade for the versa-matics as they used the same green color

Some parts primed, ran out of brown primer so switched to white

Finally an update!

You had both options, a disc with 4 sickle sections was also available, if you look at the pic in my first post you can see the other one with the "Weed cutter" head on it.

 

The saw blade could also be tilted upright to cut lumber I'm guessing but they never had any fancy tables to lay the wood on like the other manufactures at the time.

That looks fantastic. I like the toggle switch that they used. That blade is awesome I love the big safety guard on it  :rolling:
