1. oil capacity of rear end?

1b. I see that it can either take Hy Tran or 30W motor oil/  preference? Myself I would lean towards the 30W because I do not know if Hy Tran was even invented yet by 1963.  Is this correct thinking?

How thick is HyTran compared to the 30W?

2. Any source for the bicycle grip looking thing that goes on the deck raise/lower handle? My son claimed to have looked "everywhere" online (he's better at that sort of thing than me) and "nobody" has it.

I've used HyTran in a lot of Gear boxes never an issue.

HyTran is the Case IH brand name for that product.

Deere calls it HyGard

Mobil calls it 424

1. 3 1/2 quarts

1b.  Either one will work and is what the operators manual for an Original told you to use.  Yes Hy-tran was around back then and before that.

It is a 30W product as well I beileve.

2. No source I am aware of short of getting a different lift handle as they are molded right to the handle.
