Last Friday I was browsing CL and found these two engines for sale. They where within my price range and driving range so I went and bought them. I shouldn't be allowed on CL lol.

The incomplete engine is an early model and it looks like some one was getting it ready to run again. I sold this one to a friend already, since he really wanted one.

The complete one is a later model LA. After tinkering with it for an hour or so I got it running again. It starts very easy and runs decent but needs a good tune up. It's not supposed to sound like a hit and miss engine lol.

If it says McCormick-Deering on it, how do you know it's an IH?

McCormick Deering was a part of IHC. The IHC logo is cast into many of the parts on the engines.

Okay! Now you know what I don't know about these!

Cool, I just got in from working on my LB engine.  Looks like you have a project ahead of you.  got to get that mag working again then straighten out the fuel line and you should be in good shape   whatever you do don't do what I did and strip the threads for the fuel line in the fuel mixer :wallbanging:.
