Went ahead with the swap. It is going to be much more useful now. Some things need to be adressed, such as a new mounting plate, stationary pully for the PTO, and it needs a starter. It will have to be mounted off to one side so the driveshaft doesn't interfere with the steering column. Also I have found a way to make my belt drive Simplicity snowblower work on this tractor.
Replacing 18 hp opposed twin with 14 hp Vanguard?

Also now that it has a motor that is slightly smaller and easier to "move", could I potentially cut, bend, and weld the frame so It is straight and not bent to clear the old motor?
