Not much! I have a late 112 (1974) that has the 12 HP Kohler engine (early 112's used a 10 HP Tecumseh). The 112 & 212 use the same trans-axle, main difference is sheet metal. ~~ grnspot

1968-1971 model 110/112 had a slightly lighter frame - starting in 1972 Deere went to a heavier frame. As for differences in a 112 and 212, the '72-'74 112 will be more similar to a 212 than a '68-'74, though most attachments work on all of these. The main difference in the 112 and 212 is that the 212 had the K301As, had engine isolation mounts, better muffler, and then, of course, the 212 had head lights as standard equipment, engine side panels, different styling, moved the fuel tank to underneath the fender deck instead of underneath the hood like the 112 which allow for a larger fuel tank and a fuel pump, and there were some other minor upgrades.

the gas tanks are different - on the 112 it is under the hood, on the 212 it is under the seat. 212 gas tank is larger. the fender pans are different because of the gas tank. the hoods and hood frames are different too. the 212 has side panels, the 112 has a belt guard. but all in all a lot of part as just about the same and can be used on both

good luck

Well, seems to me the biggest difference between 212 and 112 is 100....(yeah, yeah it's terrible I know.)

the helper spring are different. but you can get the helper spring to working, but it is not easy. got one on a 212 and 214 and they do work.
the 110/112 do not have a fuel pump, the 200 series do.
