I have an onan I am having problems with. It was running great. Went to lunch and came back and it didn't want to start. It finally started but won't run past idle. I cleaned the carb and same thing. I have great compression 115lbs and great spark. What is going on. I notice that my dip stick is loose and can move around. I was thinking condenser?

Cleaned the carb, sonic cleaned and super cleaned I mean It's clean. I bought a complete carb kit, and replaced all the fuel lines and filter. Changed gas just in case and still crap.it spits a little gas out the carb. What am I missing?

Won't go above idle
Sounds like a port in the carb to me. Getting idle fuel, but main nozzle not allowing fuel.
Did you run something thru each passage?
Have you sprayed the seams and intake gasket with carb cleaner? (If bad seal or gasket, you'll hear a change in the engine.
Does choke on allow you to accelerate?

"Spits gas back out thru carb"
I think all mine do this.
Get something VERY insulated and pull one plug wire at a time while its running.

Also, my one Onan decided to run bad... Very bad... Ended up being poor ground to the points. Loosened the Allen screws and cleaned up. One star washer later, all was well.

I can't even get it to run now. When I can I will try to check the intake. I did not run anything threw the main jet, I soaked it in lacquer thinner for 2 days and sonic cleaned it. But I will try that next.

No change with unlit propane. If I disconnect each wire it kills it either way.

Cleaned the points. I am getting spark to the plugs but not the brilliant hard spark.

Everything is disconnected from the coil, I put my ohm meter as low as it will go and I am reading 5.9 to 9 and it wont stay in one spot. With all my symptoms does a bad coil make the most since?

I don't know what the ohms should be. I can check my 19.9 in a few minutes.

I think it's my coil. It has a small crack on top and has a 5.6 reading if I tested correctly

It could be a reason for it to act up.
If you give it some carb cleaner or a little fuel... Will it fire?

It will fire and run very roughly.

I would finish the carb cleaning (ports) and then condenser, then coil
The coil will be the expensive part.

Ports are clean, I went over them again. This is probably the cleanest carb I have done. I put a nos brand new carb on last night and same thing. I will try the condenser
