Somebody in my area always tries to claim first mowing rites for the spring B4 April 1. I do not believe it has happened yet --the usual suspects can be counted on one hand. As the cowardly lion said after the good witch induced snow storm--funny weather we're having . Time to check on feisty one.

If they are saying they mowed, they are mowing snow today.

We would be mowing snow as well if we tried to mow. This weather lately is definitely messed up. So ready for real spring weather.

I mowed my lawn two weeks ago. The previous owner had moved out in June, and had mowed it very rarely the rest of the summer.
So I had about 8" of dead grass. Not trying to one up anyone, just had some nice evenings so I did it.
We had some warm weather so I mowed it. Then took the mower off the Murray, did some work, replacing motor mount bolts. The deck has been off for two weeks waiting on a new belt got it Monday. Besides we got a cold snap for the past two weeks. So it will go back on this weekend since it is warming up over the weekend. The snow blower is still on the 318 . I would not take it off till after April 1st as I remember all too clearly the April 9th blizzard of 1973.

the wild onions in my yard are getting tall. I will probably mow next week/weekend for the first time to even it all up and make it look better.

Last year on April 2 my BIL an wife and me and my wife went to Tater Valley Tenn to pick up some cabinets. The wild leeks were quite fragrant there. To anybody from that area-- salute!!! :D
